SERVING THE NOW, SAVING THE FUTURE.

Join us in supporting the next decade of the Bash for Brains on Saturday, September 13, 2025.

When our mom Lucy walked into a room, light followed. She was tirelessly advocating to do good things in the world. At a very young age, Lucy was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. For the past ten years, she has been our inspiration for the Bash for Brains.

At our first Bash in 2013, we raised $7,000 with the support of 50 family and friends who showed up simply because they cared. This year, we celebrated our 10th anniversary, raising over $150,000 and counting, with over 400 people in attendance.

The Bash for Brains exists not only to support research and advancements through the Alzheimer’s Association, but also to  support  the Bash for Brains Fund. Through our partnership with the  Woodbury Community Foundation, we seeded the fund in 2018, with a mission to give grants to local families impacted by the disease.

As we look to the next decade of the Bash for Brains, we can’t help but wonder if we might be personally affected by Alzheimer’s. Will this terrible disease take over our brains like it did our mom’s?

This has been the first year there have been significant advances in Alzheimer’s research, giving us hope for our futures. We are passionate about making positive strides towards the mission of finding the first survivor of Alzheimer’s Disease. We want to be there for our children. We want to be the grandmas taking our grandkids on fast jet-ski rides! We need to be here to continue making a difference.

As we shift our focus toward the second decade of the Bash for Brains; we are excited to announce our evolved mission, SERVING THE NOW, SAVING THE FUTURE. Join us in supporting all that is ahead for the Bash for Brains!

Thank you for supporting us in our mission to bring an end to Alzheimer’s. We could not do it without your help.

Sincerely,

Leah Huxtable & Eva Thompson

The Bash for Brains is dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the fight against Alzheimer's disease and supporting local families in need of respite care. Our mission is to raise funds and awareness to contribute to the Alzheimer's Association's efforts to find a cure for Alzheimer's while providing essential respite care for families affected by this challenging journey. Through community engagement and collaboration, we strive to create a world where individuals and families facing Alzheimer's receive the support they need to navigate this journey with dignity and compassion.
